The Massachusetts Tree Wardens’ and Foresters’ Association (MTWFA) strives to
recognize its members professional commitment and dedication.

The Association recognizes these award winners at the annual conference. The awards
are proudly announced in our quarterly newsletter, The Bark, and on the Association’s
web page. A press release is also created to shared with the individual's community.

The Massachusetts Tree Wardens’ and Foresters’ Association is
recognized as the nation's oldest urban and community tree
protection organization, having been formed in 1913 for the
preservation and protection of public trees.
The Tree Warden is a municipal position required under
Massachusetts General Laws to protect public shade trees within
the 351 cities and towns of the Commonwealth.
